David Barnes, Ph.D.

Dave Barnes is a founder, chief executive officer, and chief scientific officer of Velesco. Dave worked for Pfizer for 19 years in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division of R&D. He is an accomplished scientist with broad expertise in formulation, product development, GMP manufacture, clinical supply provision and facility management. He has extensive experience in managing complex scientific and technical projects, many of them outsourced to contract research organizations.

With his broad depth of experience in formulation ranging from early stage non-clinical products through to the development and transfer of commercial dosage forms into production facilities.  Dave is recognized as a technical expert in his field, having written several papers and given many technical presentations at international conferences and symposiums.  He ensures that he is involved in the scientific oversight of the projects undertaken by Velesco.

Dave has a Pharmacy degree and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from The School of Pharmacy, University of London.
